PSVI Film Festival - Fighting Stigma Through Film

Using the power of film and art, the ‘Fighting Stigma through Film’ PSVI (Preventing Sexual Violence Initiative, led by the Foreign & Commonwealth Office) festival aims to tackle the discrimination and stigma faced by survivors of sexual violence in conflict. With guest of honour United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees’ Special Envoy Angelina Jolie, it included 35 films and documentaries from 14 countries including Syria, Burma and Nigeria, plus array of workshops, installations and exhibitions to help raise awareness.

As well as designing the brochure itself, I chose an uncoated 250gsm paper stock suitable for an event of this nature, and picked an interesting fold which would suit a smaller printed piece - a concertina fold with a small spine. By using interesting typography I aimed to produce a really nice contemporary design to let the content breathe and make sure the design did not detract from the subject matter of the films and exhibitions.
